Some good Nutria recipes

I just thought since we are all in the holiday cooking spirit that I'd pass along a webpage with some good looking Nutria recipes. Not to mention it might help cut down the population a little.

There was an episode of Seinfeld where George got a cheap Nutria hat to replace an expensive fur hat he lost. Probably a better use for them, Isn't that why they got imported in the first place?

They would make great guard Rats.I know when I confronted one down by my place it just stared and hissed.Needless to say he won!!! Im glad they arent in my Weight Watchers eating plan.

So, due to its classification as a Prohibited Aquatic Animal Species in Washington State, I believe it is legal to "harvest" Nutria at any time. Further, in doing so you are helping the State reduce and hopefully eliminate the population altogether. So you see, in a way, it is your civic duty to eat them. Kinda like the feral pigs that can be found on the Peninsula and Southwest Washington. If you run across one of these critters you need to remind them of where they fit in the food chain!
In all seriousness though, Nutria appear to be able to provide a good opportunity to hone one's hunting skills. Just need to keep in mind your local ordinances with regards to firearms restrictions. I know a bow hunter who will be targeting them for off season practice. I contemplating hunting them with my son in preparation for deer next season to impress upon him positive identification before the shot, shot selection, safety, etc.

plenty of them down here at lacamas lake. they swim right across your bow, look up and hissssss and keep going. now when your in a toon thats a little to close for comfort.

The state should round them all up and serve them in our prison system.A good nutritious and cheap food.Perfect for the jails.
