cabelas salt striker rods

Post by big fish lite line » Wed Jun 25, 2008 4:41 pm

I just purchased one of
these

I got the 7ft 10-17lb model for shallow water bottom fishing in the San Jaun Island and at neah bay for black rockfish and it feels great super lightweight and has great backbone as and pretty good cork handle. definantly 5 stars

I just figured I'd give you guys the heads up because they are not going to be selling them for 50$ for ever

I agree with ya. Bottomfishing takes a toll on rods, I see no point in spending a ton of money on them.....They get pretty thrashed out there, so why spend big bucks on em? Save the money on em and put that $$$ into getting nicer salmon setups....

No problem with going with the special, fish don't bite a line coming from a G. Loomis any better then a no name rod. Some of my old favorites are made by companies you've never heard before. Yet they are still alive and catching fish.

Yes, G Loomis is my idea of spending big bucks. I've owned 2 Lamiglas rods, and don't plan to own another one anytime soon, nor am I seeing myself pulling the trigger on a Loomis. Too pricey. Heck, for $240 I can get 2 setups for the price of one rod alone.

I believe there are a lot of other good rods available out there that don't have the name Lamiglas or G Loomis on them. Just my .02, everyones got theirs.
