I wrote this up thinking that if anybody finds they need reel parts. It might pay off to contact the company to find out about replacement parts!

Back at the end of June, I got a Pflueger President 6735 from The Quadfather. It was missing a bunch of parts but I figured I could use it for parts for the 6735 I already had. Just out of curiosity, I went to the Pflueger site to see if I could buy the parts, and if so, would it be worth the cost. Plus I wanted to replace the felt drag washers on my current 6735 and my 6725 spools.

There was a 1-800 number on the site so I gave it a call. I very nice woman from Pure Fishing Reel Service answered the phone. I told her what I was trying to do, so she emailed me the parts diagrams and lists for both reels and had me send her an itemized parts list.

I sent her the list (15 pieces total), waited a couple days then sent another email asking if she got the 1st one. She emailed back and said they had the parts, and said "For warranty and payment purposes, how long have you had the reels (President 6735 and 6725)?"

I was honest - saying one I got from a friend, the others I had for a few years - no reciepts, no warranty cards sent in.

Then she asked for my mailing address. Still no mention of prices:-k

Two weeks later I got an envelope in the mail with 8 of the pieces in it! Still no mention of $$:thumleft:

So I emailed again, thanked her for the parts, and sent a revised list of what I still needed. No response.

A couple more weeks go by and I am thinking to just call the 1-800 again and I get two more envelopes in the mail containing all the parts I asked for - minus two cover screws and still no $$ spent!

So, today - an the way home for work, I took one of the cover screws to Tacoma Screw - they had what I needed, and gave em to me FOR FREE:cheers:

Touche' Mark, A Pflueger President built from SCRATCH. I felt really bad to hear that it was missing 15 pieces,, but at least it was cheap,LOL. that is awesome that you piece mealed it all together, and then why would Tacoma screw offer you products for free?? Maybe the Pflueger lady was just sweet, but that is pretty amazing on your last two screws.

I had a smilar experience with an Eagle spinning reel I had. I contacted them via email and stated that I had lost a screw from the bail. They responded with a detailed drawing of the reel and asked which screw. I gave them the part number and my customer information. DIdn't hear anything back for two week when I got an envelope in the mail including the screw, and all the additional pieces for the complete bail unit. And no charge for any of it. Customer service at its best!
