Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon

I have been using the 4 pound Vanish as leader material the past few weeks. I pciked it for the low diameter and invisibilty under water for leery trout. At times the line has held up fine, but other times it always breaks at the knot, I make sure I spit on the line before I tighten up the knot. The improved cinch knot is used. Does anyone have any problems with this line. I think I will change to Pline.

I haven't tried the Vanish, have always used P-Line with great success and no failures. I'm a "if it ain't broke don't fix it guy" so have never tried any other fluorocarbon lines.

I also use the P-Line and am very happy with it.

I've tossed my Vanish line a while back. Similar issues, low knot strength and seemed to break without cause. I've gone to Maxima and Seaguar flourocarbon lines and have not had any issues.

I also never had knot strength problems with maxima chameleon line. I changed lines to try it out only to lose fish.
Heres an interesting article that tested all kindss of fc line. Berkley Vanish didnt do so well.

Pline would most likely be a good choice in my opinion, i changed to pline after vanish as well
the halo is exspensive but i love it! its awesome for invisibility, and has super low memory compared to other lines I've used
