I'm fishing this derby tomorrow, got a last minute invite. My question is, what is the primary bait fish inthe area? Herring or candlefish? We'll be launching at Redondo and fishing around there and point robinson. I've never fished the area, so any advice would be welcome. Thank you:-"

Well the winning fish for this derby came out of Elliot Bay and pushed close to 30lbs. Many 20+lb fish were weighed in of the 61 total fish entered. Not sure how many anglers were fishing the derby that day but the popular places were packed with boats, Three Tree Point was a zoo! Sad to say it but we didn't have one of the bigger fish entered. PSA of South King County put on a great derby with 3 separate weigh-in stations located in Elliot Bay, Des Moins, and Point Defiance and had prizes for all who entered a fish.

that sucks g-man you didnt get a bigger fish but id sounds like you did get some fish though
