Reminder: turn/mail in your catch record by 30 April!
Reminder: turn/mail in your catch record by 30 April!
For all of you who may have forgotten, it is nigh time to turn in your catch record for this past season.
Re: Reminder: turn/mail in your catch record by 30 April!
And... if you haven't already done so, you'll want to renew your license for 2015. Your old one expired March 31st.

Remind me, the Steelhead Salmon CRC can't be submitted online, and has no penalty, unlike the crab CRC right?

No online submit process, you have to mail them in but I am unclear about the penalty question. I've heard several stories but never had one confirmed. I do know they read at least some of them as I got a call one year because I put the wrong month on one of my steelhead catches and they wanted to confirm it (had a June date in the middle of a bunch of July dates - and the June date was before the season was openwlai wrote:Remind me, the Steelhead Salmon CRC can't be submitted online, and has no penalty, unlike the crab CRC right?
To save hassle and stamps I always end up just collecting them from my friends and family members and mail them all in 1 envelope (think I mailed in 7 this year in one envelope).
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

If you look on your CRC I believe you will see a statement like, "failure to turn in your catch record card by the required date may result in a $10 fine." And you are correct, crab can be submitted on line, everything else needs to be mailed.
Even if you just catch and release or didn't catch any fish to record, it's important to turn in your CRC. Missing CRCs are assigned an inflated average number of fish kept and add to the total calculated number of fish harvested by sports anglers.

From what I can find on-line, the only penalty is if you dont turn in your crab card.

(b) Effective December 1, 2009, and thereafter, failure to return a Dungeness crab catch record card or to report the Dungeness crab catch record card information at the designated internet site by the dates indicated on the card will result in a ten-dollar administrative fee. The administrative fee will be collected from anglers when they acquire a subsequent Puget Sound Dungeness crab endorsement.
Still a good idea to turn in the other cards so they have accurate catch numbers to plan by.

My fishing buddy has only sent one back in the past 5 years and every year he gets his new license and record card and no one say's anything to him. I give him a hard time about it and tell him one these years they it is going to cost him a bundle to get his license when they tack on all of their fines to license fee.
