Post by Mike Carey » Sun Apr 01, 2012 7:34 pm

wow, I hadn't really paid much attention, but the band width for WL.com in March was 79,635,537 kb.

That's a whole lotta kb!

We'll get a lot more reports while the lakes start up. I'm surprised we don't get more folks on the site, anybody who fishes should know it!

WoW! That is impressive. I bet you never could have imagined this in your wildest dreams how successful your site has become. And to think, it is only getting better and better as it grows.
I think it has become a household name amoung fisherman. Kudos to you and Aaron.

I bet 50-75% of people just read but don't join. I have them tell me they visit all the time but still don't want to join. Great site I am told. That is why we have such high stats.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

My guess would be 75-85% for sure are casual visitors.

Surprized me when I was checking 'odd' names and such. Some members, yes members, joined as far back as 7 YEARS and never post. One guy was 5 years and finaly posted this past month.

I wonder how often spam bots make money on anything they post. Are they just going to try to put malware on your computer? Because I've yet to find someone dumb enough to put anything into those sites, let alone click the link.

Every once in awhile. Funny, the amount of work required for someone to post all those can be removed by 3 clicks by ADMIN. And they just were. [flapper]

It looked like someone did go to a lot of work to put that junk on here. 82 posts in multiple threads from 2 screen names, Bahamas. Those were bizarre, weren't even sentences per say, more like key words for google search. First time I recall seeing that many. Kudos to the 3 clicks!

On one of the forums I used to administer, I set the Word Filter to change certain words. Any Pharmaceutical drug names were changed to fish species. It was rather comical to read the Filtered version of some of the posts. Especially the posts that were about male enhancement drugs.

That would be fun to read: Enlarge your "BASS", make that "sturgeon" stand up, increases blood flow to your "salmon". LOL That would have been funny to read!
