Harstine Island State Park, Proposed Land Sale

Post by Rich McVey » Tue Apr 24, 2012 9:54 am

FROM: Randy Kline, Environmental Program Manager
SUBJECT: Harstine Island State Park, Proposed Land Sale

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission issued a SEPA “Determination of Non-Significance” (DNS) on April 24, 2012 for the property known commonly as Harstine Island State Park, proposing to declare an approximately 100 acre portion of the 303 acre property no longer advantageous for park purposes. This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with State Parks. This environmental checklist, and the DNS, is available at http://www.parks.wa.gov/plans/separeviews/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The Commission will consider this issue at their May 24, 2012 meeting in Yakima, WA. Additional information related to this agenda item can be found at http://www.parks.wa.gov/agency/commissionmeetings/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; one week prior to the Commission meeting.

This DNS is issued under 197-11-340(2) and State Parks will not act on this proposal until the comment period has ended. Comments must be submitted by May 8, 2012, or they may not be considered. Any person wishing to comment on the DNS should submit written comments to:

What a cool thing it would be for Mike and Aaron to purchase so we can have some bungalows and a Wa Lakes Sport Complex and Lodge

If they buy the land, I will offer to buy a 99 year lease on a plot of it for my new cabin :-"
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker
