toy donations and beer? Meet and Greet
is there anything the members of WA lakes do to donate toys or anything? I would be game if a big group of us got together at a somewhat centralized bar brought some toys and put faces to the names. I used to go on a yearly Toyota toys for tots run but I no longer have my truck. I would definitely like to give back and you can never go wrong adding beer.

FYI, the shoreline fire dept is having it's annual toy drive for under privledged kids. They were at Fred Meyers on 185th and Aurrora all day Sunday. Drive lasts till 12/15. Then all toys are distributed to Hopelink and the local YMCA(?) I bought some stuff and dropped it off at the Shorelne Fire Dept, located at 175th and Aurora Ave N )(NW corner) today. Darells tavern has all you can eat Taco's on Tuesday. I hear they are purdy durn good eats!!!! Darrels is located at 182nd and Aurora Ave N. If not 182nd then 181st or 180th ST. It is across the street, to the South of Jack in the Crack (jack in the box). Which is adjacent to the Aurora Freddies, which is to the west of Jack in the B. A tri fecta for toys, beer and burgers if the taco's don't pan out.

Used to do the Toys For Tots run every year on the bike. What a blast (sometimes, literally a blast in the face riding in the snow). I'm following the thread, I live in Shoreline, if I can make it I will. Even if it is just to drop something off. If something can be pulled together maybe get everybody to bring Barbie & Batman poles (it is a fishing group after all).
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Drysuperfly,
Count me in. I live in N. Seattle, so that makes me another N. end person, but I'm flexable. That a good idea you have, win/win. Brewskies, talking fishing, putting faces together...... although I can already account for most of the faces in this thread.. and finally of course beer drinking. I'll sign off on this one.
Please keep me informed. If you are undecided on a charity, I can help there as well.

Re: toy donations and beer? Meet and Greet
alright so I am thinking next Thursday at 7:00, I am not sure where we so far distance wise 164th or 128 looks to be the most central of everyone, do we have any underage members that plan on attending? I am trying to find a location that will fit an unknown number of people and that can be tough in a restaurant, I was thinking possibly alfys, (but no good beer) I was on Google maps and saw a pub called 13th street pub and eatery.. possibly this place??
I am open to all ideas and to get the most people to show up. I messaged Mike Carey and once we get this finalized he will post it on the main page so everybody can see it!!

Its a little more north then 128th but there is a Sportys Bar and Grill between Everett mall way and 41st on evergreen. great food, lots-o-beer, and there is a big dining area that is open to underagers
