Lake Washington Fishing website.

Post by JT26 » Tue Apr 15, 2008 6:17 pm

Hey guys, i've been putting together a little website for about a week and a half for my Computer Apps. class [the assignment was to use a free website creating tool to make an informative, well layed out website], so of course i picked my favorite subject..fishing. And i made it based on Lake Washington from that post i put in the suggestions page, about there being so much LW questions here, and there should be a individual section for it.

Anyway the address is http://LakeWashingtonFishing.googlepages.com/

The website contains information on the major species of fish in LW. This includes Smallies, Largemouth, Cutts, Perch and a few more. I have methods for catching, where to catch them, what to use, etc. I have a shore/pier fishing section also that shows how to fish from them. It also has info on the actual lake history.

Its not complete yet, but ill have it done soon. Its graded in next thursday i think, so it will be done by then.
Its not put together very well yet and it doesnt look very good, but that will all be fixed soon. And plus after its graded i will change a whole lot on the website (some stuff i want to do doesnt meet the requirements)

So yeah, i made a website, the link is http://lakewashingtonfishing.googlepages.com/ and i hope it becomes a great source of info for anybody.

Also if i have any wrong info, or you think i could be more specific on something feel free to send me a PM or post here.

Thanks, JT.

You've created quite a sweet site there JT...Looks great...
That must be quite rewarding to see if after all the work put in thus far.
Good looking site, and if you need some help with the Largemouth bass/Sockeye section, I might have a bit of info that could be of use...

Good work. Let us know what your grade is. I think you should do well from my view. Although I am looking at it from a users point of view and not a teacher.
Are you going to keep it up even after the class is over?
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

That is awesome JT! Nice job. Love to help you out with this. I will give a report for Sunday if you want and you have my permission to use any of my photos of Lk Wa in my Photobucket.
Couple of things - add info on all the launches and parks, add a topo, add the surface area in the About, I will chime in as I think of more. You have the makings of a great site. I give you an A+ already.

I hope Mike and Aaron don't get jelous.

Nice site JT. Me and lake WA have never seen eye to eye, but I do know a little about it and have had some success (very limited however) on that lake. I would be more than happy to help you out with whatever I can. Just let me know what I can do.

I can submit a few pictures as well for some large and smallmouth bass. Looks like a sweet site...

gpc, on a side note, I'll have to get you into some good spots this year...I have a few bass spots I think might just hold a ton of fish and never get any pressure....

Back on track, JT, it looks sweet. If there's a way I can help, PM me.

You should have a weather link on there also. Try this:

Colors too. Make it unique. WL.com has the light blue locked down. Black background Red text. White Back with Green text. I dunno, play with it. Check out other fishing sites to get an idea.

Please don't do black background red text.

I like the way you have it. Clicking on the link for the types of fish takes us to an attractive page that is different from the original.

I'm not saying go with Black and Red, but to try out some color schemes. JT might find a combo that will make his sight pop! Nothing wrong with what he's got but like I said, WL.com has the light blue thing covered. Just might be a way to distinguish his site from others. If you go to fishing sites usually all of them have some sort of scheme.

I do like the counter on the bottom. It will be cool to see it grow.

Great job so far JT!

As far as the color scheme and layout, I really like the one you used for the fish descriptions, very clean - I would use that as your standard colors/layout for the rest of the site... Just my 2 cents..
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Smart work man. Great way to attack the project. You should add a personal touch and include a picture of you fishing on the homepage. Just be sure and look all serious. Show'em your Blue Steel! (Zoolander reference incase I am dating myself)
