Marc,
I read your first offering and I'm more that convinced that you are spot on. Elitism is prevalent in our sport but I for one can show you how to go "fly fishing" without spending all of your gas money. There is a reason I call myself Lotech Joe, and it's because I've learned how to fly fish without spending a 2nd mortgage. If you learn to use cheap (inexpensive) gear well, you can fish with the pro's. Whatever fish you are after, you can use budget equipment and do well. I also agree with you, that as you get to be a better fly fisher, you start to demand equipment that performs better and you look to the more expensive equipment to meet your needs. It seems to be a learning curve in process.
It's an addiction, and it is a very fine addiction. Welcome to fly fishing!

Mike or Aaron moved a couple of things around on the page, but I think that the original page content is the same except for adding one more writers link. I may be wrong though.

Uncle Wes was retired due to lack of participation.

I knew it. And I have read all his stuff too. I had a feeling it was something like that but I didn't want to sound retarded. So where are his articles going to go? Will we still be able to enjoy them?

BTW Marc, I think you have the start of something great. I enjoyed the read and had no clue about the history of flyfishing and its beginnings. It is always neat to learn new things about our sport. Great work sir, I am looking forward to every issue of "Feathers To Fins".

His articles are part of the database and will be available always. JUst do a search under "Uncle Wes" and click the "Articles" tab. The search tool just gets better - and it needs to with over ten years of posted reports, articles, and everything else!

Is there a way to put a link on the home page to the list of articles in the archives? They are great articles.
