Posting reports for Lakes that aren't listed
Posting reports for Lakes that aren't listed
I fish a couple lakes in the Yakima County Area that I don'tsee listed to post reports for. And these lakes are planted for rainbow trout by the State Wildlife Fisheries and very public with primitive campgrounds and beautiful wild life area. I was wondering if adding another sections for "other lakes" when reporting, where you might be able to submit the name of the lake, the county it is in, and the report. These aren't necessarily secret lakes. Way out in the open and VERY easy to get to. If other fisherman want to know exactly where they are at, they could always ask. Maybe after a while, getting these lakes added to the county indexes could be the next step. There are just too many lakes out there to add them all, however reporting on ones not listed would be also a great idea, as most lakes that are planted aren't necessarily listed to be able to report on....

In the "Old Days" i.e. pre Aaron, everthing was done in HTML. I would get a report and cut and copy to the site. Not practical with 20-30 reports a day! When Aaron arrived he coded all the reports into a database format, which means we just read the report and approve and it instantly goes into the database. The reason I'm going into this is that it's not possible to do an "on the fly" database that guys could just type a lake name in. And that also applies to the various drop-down menu items on the report form.
So... if you have a lake you want to add into the datebase just send me an e-mail (mike@washingtonlakes.com) with the name of the lake, the county it is in, and any brief overview you'd like to share. I will then add it to the databse and it will show up for that county's list of lakes to report on.
Thanks!

Hey Thanks for the update/background Mike! I wasn't aware! I kind of figured as much though regarding the the "old way". After this weekend (if all goes as planned) I'll be sending report(s) to you regarding some of these lakes....Thanks for your help!
