I was trying to think of something at school today when I was taking a test, what if ther was a "fishing IQ test where there are common knowledge questions and the score is posted on their profile,:-k to see how much they really know. And they could only take on every few months. Just an idea but I thought it would be pretty neat to have.:-s. Do you think this is a good idea?,or do you think it is dumb.

I like the fishing IQ test idea. It'd be neat to see what mine would be. Maybe someone has already created a test like that. As for posting it in your profile.... just like my regular IQ score, it'd be fun for me to know my own, but I don't think I'd want to share it with anyone. [thumbsup]

1] I don't care anything at all about any fish specie other than what I fish for, so don't care to learn about the others. There ARE 2 species I should fish for, and think about it now and then. Therefore I know a little about them, very little.

2] people fish for the same specie differently, therefore knowledge will be different. A test tells you nothing.

3] I don't care what other's iq is, was, or will ever be. I don't even care what MY iq was, is, or will be in the future.

4] [biggrin]

Ok, just throwing it out there as a possible option there would be. Im sure some people hate the idea and some like it.

Ok, just for the record I only took the bass questions. I got them all 'correct', even the trick question - I hate trick questions - even tho on a couple questions more than one answer would catch fish, so I had to determen which would be 'best'.

fullstringer,, if you ever double post something, or if you post something and then decide you don't want to put it out there, then just go back to the posting and click on "Edit" go into the text and delete it all. You will have to leave one character, ( a period, a letter, etc.) then re send it. It will come up as blank. :dwarf:

I hate test when you cannot question the answer or rational. I did not complete the test because I don't have the time right now for 82 questions, but I went far enough to get interested.

Example of my disagreement with some test questions. Question:, Bass relate to wind blown banks because the wind blows the bait fish to them. There is really three parts to this question.

Part one of this question is true, Bass DO relate to wind blown banks.

Part two is false, the wind does not blow bait fish, it blows the feed that bait fish feed on, therefore concentrating the bait fish on the wind blown banks.

Part three is true, the bass do go there for the bait fish.

I don't know what the Official answer was, but it should have been false becaue of part two, but I'll bet the answer that the armchair sportsmen at Field and Stream gave was true.

So, again, just how accurate is an IQ test in the first place?

FYI, and no bragging, just a comment to prove a point. I have been tested several times over the last 35 or so years of my 52 LONG years on earth. My IQ results ranged from 165 to 135, depending on mood, time of my life, and specific test. A 30 point spread is quite crazy if you ask me.

For example, normal is 100, 80 is considered to be marginally functional. Based on my spread, I could be normal and test as low as a moron one day or marginally genius the next.#-o

IQ test are seldom used anymore, and that is why. A single test does cannot determine ones intelligence, past experience influences results, the answer to the questions is often determined by those of lesser knowledge.:-({|=

So, do you want to wear your IQ on your sleeve? I don't.

PS, 77/82

This is a REAL bad idea from the aspect of a forum moderators viewpoint. I can just see it.... "Hey moron, what do you know, your fishing I.Q. is 25! Why don't you just shut your mouth and go to another site!!!" Another PM sent out.......[-x

fullstringer98, you've only been on the forum for a short time. Stick around and you'll discover who knows a lot about fishing and who doesn't. No test needed.:)

Doesn`t take long to see who has the high fishing IQ`s around here. I think I posted twice and figured it out.

Haha, all good.
I was thinking for IQ levels that there could also be an option for something like
"Eats paste"
"Sticks crayons in ears and nose"
and for the lowest score "Not allowed to babysit a shoe"
