River descriptions
River descriptions
I think it would be nice to get some descriptions going for rivers. I don't know all the rivers, but I know some fairly well. I notice that there are google maps embedded in the info page, I could also put access info together for those maps for everyone or the premium members. Could we get a couple of guys together to work on that? I'm volunteering my time for it if you guys are too busy.

capitol idea, one that has been on our backburners for awhile. I need to remind Aaron. He's actually busy with another major upgrade for the premium members.natetreat wrote:I think it would be nice to get some descriptions going for rivers. Re: River descriptions
To mark anything on a map I would need GPS coordinates. There are plenty of websites out there that let you click on a Google map and get the GPS coordinates. If you wanted to put together access areas it would need to be done that way and have the coordinates written down for importing into our systems.

Re: River descriptions
Aaron, what about just a river editor tool so we can add descriptions and photos for particular rivers, say, the Puyallup for example? (just like we have for lakes)Aaron wrote:To mark anything on a map I would need GPS coordinates. There are plenty of websites out there that let you click on a Google map and get the GPS coordinates. natetreat - if you're volunteering to write up brief overviews of various rivers then go for it. you can send them to me, mike@washingtonlakes.com. I know we can make this happen and it would be a nice addition to the site!
Re: River descriptions
Awesome. I'll start working on them for the rivers that I fish.
As for the maps, I know how to get gps coordinates I could do that.

Re: River descriptions
cool. Aarons going to work on a site editor for me to add this data. I have archived stuff from other members when I did a past attempt to get this off the ground, now I think we can really make this happen. Rivers have become our largest growing area for fishing reports the past few years, thanks mainly to pinks. Even better, the steelheaders out there are beginning to contribute reports as well.natetreat wrote:Awesome. I'll start working on them for the rivers that I fish.

I did the Carbon and Nisqually.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
