Slow page loading

Hey Aaron,
Has anyone else mentioned that some of the report pages are loading SUPER slow over the past few days? It looks like it's getting hung up when loading the ad content (ad.outsidehub.com). Once that loads, everything is back to normal speed.
I've noticed it in IE 7 and 8. Doesn't impact Firefox that I can tell because obviously ads are being blocked.
I can get you the full loading string if you need it.

I notice this all the time in FF... and I'm not sure if it is the advertisement, which is in an iframe and shouldn't hold the page up, or the main menu, which is a static file that should load on demand. I have a friend at work I can bounce this off of and see if he has some ideas.
If it is the ads, there's not much I can do. We are contractually obligated to serve them, but I can ask them to take a look at them.
On pages that load slow, do me a favor, and wait for it... don't refresh or force the page to load, and tell me what ad is displaying for you. It could be a specific ad that is the culprit.

Hi Aaron, I noticed this a couple of time myself, but it was during peak use periods when it hit me.
I use IE 7 because comcast tells me they don't support IE 8 yet, and may not for a couple more weeks. When I changed my home computer over, it prevented all IE access. I had to download fire fox, and that was a good thing.
Still, I have IE 7 back up, and the event occured on both IE 7 and fire fox. I'll try to see if the adds are impacting it, but again, ..................

Aaron-
I've noticed it's gotten faster since I posed the initial question but this morning it was doing it again. I checked it against several lake reports and it doesn't look like there's a pattern of which report or which ad is being loaded. It's always the sidebar graphic ads - the Google link ads pop right up but any of the graphic ads in that right sidebar are taking the longest to load.
I also noticed that on several lake reports (not all of them) there is an error message, especially on the ones that load slowly when that sidebar is dragging:
Line: 52
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL:
http://washingtonlakes.com/ReportList.aspx?id=350&t=1
Not sure if that has anything to do with it but I'm seeing it more frequently now when the sidebar is slow to load.

The one thing the report pages have that the rest of the site doesn't have is a different Publisher for the sidebar ads. On the report pages we have Outside Hub ads on the side, but the rest of the site has Google ads. So now your thinking it's not the top ad, but the side ad?

I dont want to add wood to the fire but...
Ive noticed slow loads also in the forums. Pages that take forever. One thing I have done and it alwayse seems to work. I delete the bolded text in the following URL line that is message specific.
EXAMPLE:

It's the side bar, definitely. I only get the lag on lake reports.
I've seen a few instances where the side bar will populate with Google text links, and when that happens it fills in immediately. It's only the graphic ads that cause lag from what I can see, and it's always being served by Outside Hub based on the status bar info.
Either way, it's not life threatening, but when you're in a hurry to pick out a lake to fish at 15 minutes before leaving work, that 20-30 seconds seems like an eternity hehe....
