foul weather shelters

Post by mallard83 » Sun Mar 30, 2008 2:06 am

I was just curious as to the types of shelters that you guys/gals have come up with to sheild yourselves from the elements while out fishing. This could either be for a boat, camping or even a plunking shack. I am more looking for "on the fly" or jimmy rigged shelters, preferably pics if you have them. I have seen some pretty interesting shelters over the years especially for winter-run steelhead. I will soon be attempting to build a canopy for my little 10' boat and thought that it would be kind of neat to see what others had come up with. Attached is an "on the fly" shelter that I made for me, dad, brother and friend this last year fishing for humpies on the lower Skykomish. The weather turned fowl all of the sudden and we needed a dry place to sleep for the night. The single tarp, some drift wood and some rocks worked surprisingly well.
