Need a local review of the abu garcia revo toro 60

Post by spokey9 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 10:54 am

i was checking out a revo toro 61 (i need a right hand retrieve though) at dicks and fell in love with the reel, the problem is i can't find anybody that stocks the 60. so before i go blow 280 online for a reel, i'd like to find some local fisherman that use this for salt and the rivers to find out how it holds up. my other option is the calcutta 400 but i'd prefer low profile with that kinda line capcity.

I've got a 51 and a 61. I'm the opposite as I like left hand retrieves. Solid reels with drags that will stop a bus. I've used the 61 in salt water several times and have had no corrosion issues. I've also got a Shimano 400 te. Casts well and also corrosion resistant. My only gripe with it a drag issue that cost me $80 to get fixed.

thanks wolverine. i've only found a few anglers using the revo toro 60 or 61. the only bad thing i heard was it's a lil bulky for a low profile. i went ahead and ordered the toro 60hs and should have it by wednesday, cant wait to have a shiny new toy to play with:cheers:
