Teflon-impregnated felt drag washers???
Can anyone give any insight to this type of drag assembly on a Daiwa bait caster reel? I am looking closely at a Daiwa accudepth 17LC bait caster reel. The reel has some really nice reviews, but I wasn't familiar with the felt drag washers term. for the drag assembly. Pros/Cons?

Hey Quad...I've used these reels exclusively for the last 5 years at Roosevelt, Banks, Rufus, Potholes and now Lk Wa. Caught wallys, trout and silvers up to 10# and have had no problems with any of them. The drag systems have been more than adaquate for this type of fishing...it's not like I'm fishing for tuna or larger salmon, where they're smokin' the drag! Have fun.

Mav,
Was this actually the same reel that I saw on your boat? That is not where I got the idea from actually.

Yepper! I think my wife bought me 3 of them one year for Christmas, at the recommendation of Gordon Steinmetz. The Quadfather wrote:Mav,
