Lake Meridian Bass Fishing

Post by cjrodarme » Thu Apr 23, 2015 7:44 am

Im relatively new to bass fishing and I live really close to Lake Meridian, and have a little boat. Could anyone give me some pointers on bass fishing in general, and give me some tips on Lake Meridian.

Ive never fished Meridian, so no help there. However, bass fishing is pretty much bass fishing where ever you go :)

Unfortunately, there is no way to give you even a beginners first lesson on bass fishing in one post. It would take hours of typing. Learning to bass fish isnt something that you can do in 5 minutes :) You are going to have to spend the time reading and watching videos.

Id recommend you Google "bass fishing" and get ready to spend the next several days in front of your computer :)

You can also read the Forums on this site about bass fishing as well as watch the many videos on here. Id also search the lake reports on Meridian for bass reports. That will give you tons of info.

Haven't fished that one, but looking at the map the south end looks pretty shallow and would likely be a good place to start this time of year.

Thanks for all the help. I've been studying and picked up some new gear and hope to catch some good bass on Meridian. Does anyone know of any Smallmouth in the lake?

I know a few of the Smallies in Meridian. I've probably caught most of them over the past 40 plus years. [laugh]

I've seen them in the weeds close to one end of the dock structure where folks target trout. Almost nabbed one with a jig and trailer from the dock. If this is the south end of the lake, then that ought to be a good start.
