Got My New Set Up!

Post by Fish_Bait111397 » Fri Jun 24, 2011 11:08 pm

Well, I went to Sportsmans Warehouse for the first time today, first thing that came to mind was "Looks like a mini cabelas".
Anyways, I bought a new rod- A Lamiglass G200 Series Spinng Rod-Rated 10-20lb
I was also able to pair another Shimano Spirex 4000 (my 5th one :-$ )
Cant ever have to many rods and reels !
I checked out the Okuma Celico rods, and the Okuma SST rods, they just didnt feel right!
I know salmon season is still a month or so away, but im ready, just thinkin about it gets my blood pumping :bigsmurf:

Anyone else getting any new set-ups!?
Good Luck, And Tight Lines.!

Wait, salmon season is a month away?

Last I checked the Big C, Cow, Sky, Icicle, Skagit, etc are all open for salmon AND steel right now.... not to mention the south Puget sound and Tulalip bubble.

I hadn't realized salmon season really ever truly "closed".

Sounds like a nice rod and reel!

Most places its Dec. 31st Till April. But that is most places not all. Thats fine by me anyhow cause it is prime winter run time then. I myself Usually dont target Salmon until august. Thats only cause I dont fish the salt much at all and dont care to fish off the rocks at BD and try to fight the locals for a spot at 4am. Id rather wait for combat fishing other rivers then to have 10-20 guys fishing that pool. Thats just me.
More fish please!

LOL I'm with U fishbait- I can only get away with justifying trips when the fish are thick (I don't have boat) and with my wife and daughter sometimes tagging along it means nicer weather too#-o So next month it is for me! Being a pink year run helps:thumleft: The more fish I bring home, the more I get to go back out.

As for new gear, I got 2 used rods (one pretty darn new) from Gringo Pescador at a nice enough price for my wife to approve the withdrawal from the almost penniless fishing account:-" Looking forward to putting the more stout rod to work on a king this fall and probably lots of pinks tooo:) Thanx GP:cheers:

Nicee !

Where do you plan on goin for kings?
Gonna fish for 300 pinks to get 1 king,
Or gonna go to a river without a king run??
Im gonna be fishin my favorite river for kings, Skokomish ! (no pink run)
Hopefully ill get one, ill fish there to get my first silver as well,
and ill hit the Puyallup to play with the pinks !
