I'm on it jens! I'll see ya down there bright and early! I'm primarily targeting springers seeing as how the steelies haven't shown me no love this winter. If they decide they wanna hit it, great, if not, oh well. I'm comin' home with some meat this time!

That sounds real good. Did you take your boat out?
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I won't take my boat out there, need a kicker motor to side drift. As for the Springer report, I seen a lot of boats fishing for them, but no one caught any. I did redeem myself from yesterday with a 12lb buck

. Only fish our boat caught. Where's salmonslayer??

HERE I AM!!! Yah, another strikeout for me too. Gonna have to find me a sled. I'm gettin' tired of walkin' all over the map and gettin' nothing back for it. Kills your back after a while. Might head down there again sometime soon, then again I might not. We'll have to wait and see....

My understanding is that most of the fish that are currently in the Columbia system are headed for the Willamette right now, on the Oregon side. Bonneville Dam has only seen 39 Springers as of 3/14/10. Because of this, we are not likely to see many in our tributaries until the numbers increase at the dam. To add to that, the run has been a little late too. My guess is that it will not be much longer.

I know of 3 2 weekends ago 4 last weekend and another 3 this weekend. Now those are not huge numbers by no means. But what it does tell me is that there is fish in the river. So if there is fish I got a chance.
More fish please!

Hoping to head down to the Cowlitz for a 2 day trip on the 16th and 17th. We got a drift boat and three guys hungry to hook into some springers. What #test s everyone using? I figure my usual 20# braid should do the trick.

What blew my mind last sunday, was the guy who landed 1 hooked into 2 more was using 6lb test. It did take him forever to land his fish, but he was pretty much the only angler getting any action. 20lb test is fine, I personally am using 12lb. I landed several in the 30lb range last year on it. I'd like to see you guys have to chase a pig in a drift boat, be fun! :compress:
