Has anyone wet a line in it yet? Don't think that last rain pushed in many but maybe a couple.

One word, empty. Just drove by a couple of our private prop holes and didn't see one. There were 5 guys at the meat hole that we saw and no fish on the bank there either. Need a good shot of rain and then they will be there

So the way they make it sound, anyone using a jig without a float will be charged with snagging..... should be interesting to prove in court.....

99% of the time, anyone using a jig without a float on the Samish at low tide is snagging.

I would agree with the term flossing but not snagging.... I have fished on the Samish with eggs and with jigs... I would estimate that 90 % of my fish were hooked in the mouth( inside even ) and honestly , I have accidently snagged a few fish , but anyone who fishes for salmon in the river on a regular basis ( and caught fish ) would be lying if they say they have never snagged a fish... It happens... Now , there are those who will intentionally snag fish and those people need to be prosecuted.. As for the Samish , I prefer bluefox spoon or Vibrax spinners at high tide and drifting eggs at low tide.... To generalize a style of fishing is just dumb.... Are you saying that fishing with jigs for say, Silvers or pinks is snagging?.. If so, take it up with the WDFW because they say that jigs for those species work well, and they do.... If someone is using a jig and continually brings in snagged fish, then yes, they are doing it wrong, but there are those that can use them ..... I had a game warden years ago tell me that putting split shot on my line when fishing eggs was snagging.... My buddy and I showed him our credentials ( I was WSP and he was Fish and Game ) and he back pedaled pretty quick..

Letting jigs sit in the mud, then yanking when a fish bumps the line is snagging.

I concur. Most of the fish I've seen caught there were snagged right under the gill plate. If you do it enough, it eventually ends up in the mouth sooner or later. jigs do work. if the water is clear enough for the fish to see your presentation. just like jigs on the green for pinks and silvers. Hopefully fish and game with be down there in force. ticketing and confiscating gear.
