Hello,

Does anybody know when it opens this year to salmon fishing? Also, what is the Area #?? I am new to salmon fishing.

It is actually open from 1st Ave bridge to 405 on Sept 1st. Be sure to have your book with you and pay very close attention to the area you area fishing and ensure that it is open. The Green opens in sections.

The green is 5 mins from where i live. around allentown. I never called it the duwamish. Its always been the green in my book.
even on the regs it says Green (duwamish) river.
So come mid September Ill will be fishing the lower green river :D

green's over-rated. you're best off fishing over on the puyallup system. apparently back in the day, the green and the white were connected by a little crick that ran through the muckleshoot res. land. and fish would migrate throughout both rivers systems. like i do between their present day casino systems. playa's club ! * remember free state park entrance day this weekend aug.25 !

I fished the Green all my life. I call the whole system "The Green"

I look forward to seeing your fishing reports. I've lived in W. Seattle and been fishing the green for 3 years, spent days fishin the green from the duwi to tukwila, nothin.

Lots of silvers last year jumping under the i-5 bridge. I think the key is fishing in the morning with eggs.

I agree with the guy who recommends the puyallup, if it wasn't such a pain to get to in the afternoons. Getting silvers out of the puke is so much easier than the Green, since you have driftable flossable water ;)

i need to check out the Green when it opens. I haven't been there yet.

As you can see most call the entire system the Green, some new fisherman or woman may not know it as the Duwamish at all. Thus the reason I posted the lower part. No need to leave any info out.

Green gets a good coho run. More than the Puyallup. Just wish the upper sections didn't open so late. They are usually fire trucks by that time.
