Just as the title says.We need some rain to perk up salmon season both in the salt and the rivers.A good freshet is needed something fierce.

It's been as slow as it gets even up in Sekiu...
Been dead slow out in Area 9, and 8-2, 10 is alright, some fish being taken, but nothing really biting. Some folks are claiming lockjaw, I can't tell if its that or they just aren't here, and perhaps not coming...Puget Sound should be getting hot for Coho right about now....

Biggest understatement of the century right there. Rain is the single most factor that draws fish into a river, espiecially Silvers. Once that first good September rain happens the silvers in the Snohomish will be in thick and I will be there to take a few for the table.

I'm kind of enjoying this weather right now. Our only "true" summer right here. But of course a much needed rain is due. Once it hits though, salmon will be in thick. But, I can wait. Still enjoying the Vitamin D.

You are correct on the silvers heating up here in the sound. They are all over in one of our hot spots.Grandpa picked up a nice 8 pounder on Wed.I plan on going out to get some myself.

Here we are Thursday and still no rain. Its cloudy and softly a drizzling but no measurable ammount;we need a heavy deluge then after the mud settles our rivers will be teaming with salmon.Im not going to the rivers till we get some rain. Its a great time to fish the open waters or better yet yard and housework.Everyone think rain and if you want vitamin D take a supplement.Hahahahahaha

Just a light drizzle off and on at the coast today. The Silvers are moving in and out with the tide on a couple of rivers.
Most of the rivers down here don't open until October 15.

I know what you mean. Rain causes pain. My bum knee has been killing me for the last couple days but where is the rain. A few small drizzles (which I will call mist/fog/morning dew) but no good rain. The real rain better show so that my sore knee can be justified with some fresh fish.

FINALLY!!!!! I would have to imagine that with the "medium" rain that we are getting at the moment, it will get a few more fish excited about moving into the rivers. We still need it to rain harder for another couple of days though to get the bulk of the fish to come into the rivers full steam. Hopefully this "good" weather holds on for a few days.
