Resevoir current!!!
When fishing Rufus Woods Resevoir why is it that the current movement from the dam seem to stimulate the "bite"? Is it because the moving current increases the movement of food from the structures/grasses that is being released or could it be the aeration of the water alerts the fish? Something stimulates a response to the fish. Or could it be that the resevoir is really a river and that in itself is their motivator? I suppose one could also compare it much to that of trolling in a lake in that when trolling isn't it interesting how if you just troll in a straight line and at the same speed nothing really happens. But, if you change directions abruptly its not unusual to get a hit; or just change speeds abruptly. I find it fascinating but don't know the answer. Just looking for feedback and other individuals reponses.
RE:Resevoir current!!!
Because the fish key in on 'change of direction, change of speed - which also happens when you make a turn, the bait changes direction AND speed - the fish are looking for something that is traveling a slightly different speed that what the current is doing.
Yes it is much like a river.

RE:Resevoir current!!!
I have not done it myself, but a friend as been taking his underwater camera to the pens. He claims that the fish are always feeding, but when the water is slow the pellets drop almost straight down to the fish. When the water is moving fast, it washes the food from under the pens, the fish move from below the pens, they are not accessible to fishermen.
Makes sense to me.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.
