I catch a lot of trout on accident at St Clair on white plastic curly tail grubs on crappie jigs. The faster the better with these for trout. Or, just swim them extremely slow along bottom. I dont really target trout but I do end up catching them frequently while fishing for bass and panfish.

No kiddin. My buddy tried a chartruesse grub when we trolled. I trolled pop gear and he trolled that grub and a rapala diver. nothin. May have been the day as not a lot of peeps were coming up with much. Except this AM as I was heading out, a boat was on their way in with about 6 or 7 trout.

Do you catch anything of size Rockjig?

Mostly little planters but usually a couple times a year will tussle with a trout in the 4-5# class.

Try trolling a just half a nightcrawler on a 5 foot leader with a single number 4 split shot and troll slow. Tanwax and Kapowsin lake both get like that at times and that method always produces for me.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.
