Yeah, I made two "prototypes" and picked one for this swap - If there is interest in another swap, I am ready to go!

I took mine to the lake and tried to get the fish to eat it. They looked real good to me. But I offered them woolly buggers as well so they didn't dine on the lure they choose the bugger and preferred the olive over black.

Got spinners ready to return! They look better then the pictures.

Here's the Rap sheet, and a lineup slideshow.

Since most everyone dressed up their hooks, I skewered a zonker strip on my entry for the photo shoot. I also measured a treble version when compiling stats, but took the picture of one with a single hook. The splitring and single hook version was 1/2in longer.

I'll provide a single hook version to the Swap participants that sent single hooks and a treble version to the participants that sent in treble spinners. Nice single hooks btw, where are those coming from?

I have mailing labels printed and hope to get the assortments mailed this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Since, I have my granddaughters first track meet to attend later today, its likely I'll mail tomorrow morning.

Great job!

Those look great! However, it's been gnawing at me a bit and I am feeling some guilt that I didn't tie some trebles and now that FC added some dressing, I'm really feeling that now.

Sorry, guys, it might seem like I came off a bit too lazy which is not the case. I just thought the tubing look better than a dressed tail. I do however have a special color combination of materials in mind. I need to get some more trebles, and I will make some when I do and send them out. It's one of the reasons I use split rings, to make switching out hooks to prevent having to destroy the lure to do so.

Honestly Island - My opinion is don't worry about it - I only used a single hook because I tend to modify all mine to single/barbless anyway. I only tied mine because I have never done it before and wanted to figure out how (I hope it holds together!:-$ ). The cool thing about a swap is getting variety and seeing what others are doing. I don't think you were "lazy" at all. So far I think Mike & I are game for a 2nd swap - so save your your next design for that (I am)..

Hey, this wasn't a contest, and there weren't any eligibility 'rules'. Just a spinner swap.

I hope you got to enjoy making spinners for your peeps and sharing one of your creative designs, to get it back times 5!

All the spinners looked awesome and it was easy to do. Need to start planning the next one!

I did mail them yesterday afternoon, btw.

Islandbass you did dress your treble. You have the plastic tubing on it. You have been my inspiration in making spinners. I have the photo you put up more than a year ago maybe two. It is on my desk top to look at so I would know how to make them. Now I have expanded and make them different ways. When I use the french blade I put the swivel on like you do. But I only have single hooks so that is what I put on.

Toni,

I am humbled by your kind words. Thank you. Your creations have also been inspiring and things of beauty like the jigs you made with the pinks or the use of marabou in trebles. Maybe those of us here should field test our spinners together somewhere. :salut:
