Sorry I didn't see this one.

This time of year Hawk Creek can be good, but it really depends on the water level. If it is high (http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrogra ... ,1,1,1,1,1) then fishing near the ramp up the bay can be ok, even fishing the creek up to the water fall.

When the water drops 35' of so, the better fishing is normally if you walk the trail all the way to the main lake bay, past the narrows.

The Fort Spokane area can be pretty good from the beach, near the camp ground, but I have not fished it in some time.

I've never fished the PP or 7 bays area from shore, so I don't have a clue.

Fishing RW from the shore near the can line can be good this time of year, but it is hit and miss. Going up stream to the Corps access area (Brants Landing) can also be hot this time of year, at times.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Current lake level is 1283.8'. Here's a link for daily updates, always 24 hours behind because levels are as of midnight -

http://www.nps.gov/laro/planyourvisit/boating.htm

Click on on "current lake elevation" and it will download a spreadsheet. Scroll down to most recent date. Lake level holds true for Hawk Creek as well.

Trout can be easily caught this time of year. Experiment with leaders, sometimes short leaders 1ft to 2ft work great, other times leaders 5ft to 6ft will work better. At times the fish are catching 20 to 30 ft from shore, other times you need to through out a far as you can and then a little further. The Trout bite is sporadic. You can limit out in the afternoon, evening or night on one day then come back the next day and they aren't biting.

Sometimes they bight really good when everyone else is sleeping in the wee hours of the morning.:-$

Marshmallows and worms works worked best for me, Trout bait can work also. Don't forget to read the reports. And forget to bring some wood with you to make a fire and keep yourself warm.

I was just at the grandparents for thanksgiving and gave shore fishing a try. i was plunking with powerbait in the seven bays area and limited in half an hour two days in a row including 19 and 20 inch beauties. it was real good.
