Your Favorite Kokanee Lure
What do you find to be your Go-To lure when it comes to trolling for Kokes? I've heard good things about a squid a few feet behind a 0/0 dodger.

I personally like the trout size dodger with the e-chip trolled with a double whammy wedding ring with a smiley blade tipped with white shoepeg corn. We were slaying them at a local lake with this setup.

I found this funky Spinner company, that I can only find located in Fred Meyer stores. It is an inline spoon bladed spinner with a fly on the hook. See photo. Google Joe's Spinners. It has been very successful for me.

Mini squid 8" to 14" behind a 000 or 0000 dodger, sling blade or 6" Abe and Al flasher. If that isn't working, I'll run a Pro-Troll or Apex Kokanee Killer behind one of the dodgers/flashers I mentioned. I tip either with bait that varies between Gulp Maggots, worms, corn, and shrimp. Sometimes the fish just like a particular bait over another, other times they don't care as long as the hook isn't bare.
I've all but given up on using gang trolls or Mack's Flashlites as they take the fun out of fighting a fish. I have a few mini Big Al's Fish Flash rotating flashers that I've been working into the mix with OK results. They really have minimal drag and work pretty good with lures that provide their own action like spinners, Dick Nites and the Apex style lures.

Last year it was a Squiddy Thang but this year it has been a Wannafish A Lure Bloody Mary, behind different dodgers
WITH shoepeg corn always.
WITH shoepeg corn always.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

Formerly called Joe's Spinner Flies - also available @ Cabela's in Lacey...Those are great for a number of things. I'll be using them this weekend for trout in streams. I add a couple split shot if I'm pitching 'em in creeks, or add a half-filled casting bubble to chuck 'em and drift 'em in bigger rivers. I've had great success with them as well, and the cool thing is you can unsnap 'em and add your own fly of choice. Add a woolly bugger and see what happens!:-$The Quadfather wrote:I found this funky Spinner company, that I can only find located in Fred Meyer stores.
