I've just started to fish for kokanee, mostly because I feel like I've figured out trout. I've been doing a lot of research on lakes close to home that have them and have been fishing Lake Wilderness and plan to fish Clear lake and Meridian in the near future.
That said, I see that a fair amount of kok's are planted in lake sawyer, but haven't been able to find reports on here of anyone that fishes them. Does anyone fish for kok's on sawyer? I'm not asking for secret spots or anything like that, just curious if it's worth the time to try and figure them out? Also, I'm curious about public access for the lake. I've read that there is a city park and county park on the lake. I assume these have boat launches (I just have a 9' raft, so not a biggy if they're not great) and I was curious which people thought were better and if there is a user fee for them?

Re: Lake Sawyer Kokanee
Black Diamond City Park with boat launch - $5 fee. Midish lake, west side of lake, off 216, off KentKangly road next to Playmore/Claymore tavern. Go past the Lake Sawyer store on the left with traffic light, go past the firestation on the right, turn left next road, turn imediately next road on the right.
The park at the southend has no launch.
There is a map here on WaLakes.
Kokes/trout same same, fish the same, sorta. I catch them in the spring before they go deep, or wherever they go, while I'm fishing for bass. Otherwise I know nothing about them.

I fish Lake Sawyer Kokanee. Like Amx I catch most in the spring or even winter. I think some go out the outlet with spring rains. They are usually decent size but skinny. They plant a large number probably too many, but they feed the bass.

Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated. I hadn't seen a report about them but saw they plant a TON.
