Post by spokey9 » Tue May 18, 2010 7:21 pm

Anybody see or catch any kokanee outta steilicom lake the past couple years? Used to catch the heck outta them when i was a teenager off the bridge but i have seen any in awhile.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

I remember a few months back someone posted something about catching a 19" kokanee out of there.

There aren't too many reports from that lake. Access isn't so great and personal watercraft and wakeboard terrorists are all over the place.

The one time I did try to fish there, not one, not two, but THREE different boats came zooming through the spot I was in and had the props hit the bottom. The place is FULL of idiots, and I haven't returned.

My evil mind conjoured up visions of using a jet sled to lure those other boats into the shallows.... "Follow me, the water is plenty deep enough...."

Thats why i never rent a boat at american lake. When i do i always try to stay as close as possible to the shore or within the 5 MPH bouys. There are so many idiots on speed boats and jet skiis, zooming by every 5 seconds. It makes is difficult to fish and nearly impossible to stationary fish.

It's tough to fish steilicom, but i've seen a buttload of trout over 2lbs come out the past 2 seasons. Just wish the kokes would come back in numbers
