There are many improved and unimproved campgrounds scattered around Baker Lake. The new campground (Swift Creek?, or the old Baker Lake Resort) has a boat ramp and a very nice moorage float. Most of the camping areas are on the lake or provide easy access to the lake. Shore fishing at Baker can be a challenge but there are fish to be had. You can use chum at Baker Lake and I have found that a mix of oatmeal, sand, feed eggs and krill powder mixed up and frozen in ice cube trays work wonders for shore based kokanee fishing. Just toss a "chum-cicle" to about your casting range and use a slip float with a single Green Label Pautzke egg, maggot or both on a small egg hook. You can keep your "chum-cicles" frozen for the weekend with a hunk of dri-ice in an ice chest. Also things that work well for targeting trout are an inflated worm or night crawler, the standard power bait rig, a mini marshmallow/worm/Green Label Pautzke egg combo(my favorite) and a dark colored Roostertail spinner. Good luck out their and I'll look forward to reading your report.
