so since the thread is already here and active....
you guys ever try those powerbait catfish nuggets? or still using old chicken guts, or what? is there a special technique to catfish fishing? i've never tried it but thought it might be cool. Just cast an old chicken liver on a hook into the deep end and wait?

This is probably the least environmentally friendly thing so I don't know if it's legal, and wouldn't exactly recommend it, but when I was a kid we used to use worms covered in WD-40..... Worked like a charm, but I was only about 12 and didn't really think about it much. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

When I was a kid, I knew a guy who sprayed WD-40 on his Pautske's while trout fishing. He swore by it. I never tried it but caught plenty of trout without it. I'd guess it's the same premiss as garlic or fishing scents. Just something to cover up the human smell.

WD-40 was and still is a popular scent for fishing. The problem is that it is technically illegal to use as such due to it being a petroleum based oil.
