I am planning to hit the water opening day of ling season boat is not quite big enough for the rough straight and neah bay are and I livew like 2 mintues from the shilsole boat launch whats the hot lure or bait and areas other then the non leagal spot like the inside of the break water on the mag side of elliot and the shilshole I have hokked only 10 fishin 2 years in the area and want to get that good meaty one.

There are always a few nice sized lingers taken off the breakwater at shilshole. As for bait, the flats just inside the meadow point can is home to a large population of small sand dabs, AKA Lingcod Crack. Keep em alive ( yes it's legal ) an let 'em swim just above the rocks. I like a 4oz mooching sinker and a 6ft double hook setup. Pin the front hook in the skin just behind the head. make sure the trailer hook is visible around the tail. Lings are not hook or leader shy when chasing live prey. Remember, the linger will hold the bait, even if not hooked, until it comes out of the water. Another spot to try , is the rocky bank just north of the Alki launch. Not a hot spot, but worth a try. Another spot to try with a small craft is deception pass. The launch at cornet bay is less than 5 mins away and at an ebb tide, lots of rocks to find lingers on both sides of the bridge. Good luck.

LMAO @ That :cyclopsan well there are some nice ones off the man-made tirish reef off the edmonds pier if you can cast far enough you gotta be pretty far off the to fish
