So, how's everyone doing with the halibut fishing? Was surprised to see that no one has posted a report yesterday. We are headed out first thing in the morning tomorrow to try it out. Fingers are crossed that we may get lucky enough for just one of us to get one. Camera will be in hand and with a little luck, I will have a report to post!
Happy fishing everyone!

Hein, Patridrige, Mid, Salmon and more will produce a few good flatties Good call= WS:-$
Now the secret weapon most don't do????:-# Getting Jiggy with it is Great:cheers:
When I was stacking and wacking them the Scottsman we call him Slaughter:chef:
We would slow troll for them banging the bottom same goodies= why
we found more active feeders and covered much more productive grounds and produced some great numbers doing this..
A few are going this way but most go hey Chuck WT?????? and if your pounding flats and open sands deep you hardley ever stick a downrigger ball:shaking2:

Hay ya Swede a little trick I learned from the sourdough boys up north. Instead of using conventional downrigger balls find 42 inch #11 rebar and weld a washer on one end. Just drop it down on sand or rocks - makes no difference. The rebar will just roll over the big rocks and rattle those big guys into biting.A few are going this way but most go hey Chuck WT?????? and if your pounding flats and open sands deep you hardley ever stick a downrigger ball:shaking2:

RE:Halibutt
I love that rebar idea. I prefer, with the tides and wind tommorrow, to mooch/jig. In the off season i've been making 2# copper pipe jigs for one rod and going to fish a spreader bar on the other. It was a good blackmouth season and I have a freezer full of salmon bellies. Got really lucky at Joes last week. Their freezer crapped out on them in the morning and was able to buy all the herring for a 1$ each.....SCORE!!!! I will post a report tommorrow night for me out of Cornet Bay/ Hein Bank and my partner boat coming out of Sequim/ Eastern Bank.
