Snohomish County bank fishing?

Post by TroutSnipr » Sat May 26, 2012 9:26 pm

So I haven't been doing any fishing for about 10 years now. My schedule and family life made getting away almost impossible. I was mainly an Eastern Washington basser back then, but have since sold my Bullet XD21 and all my bass gear long ago. I'm looking to get back into something less intense, cheaper, and more accessible now that I have moved to Snohomish county like pond/lake trouting or catting from the bank.

I have been looking at some of the local urban lake maps here near Everett and it seems unless you are a tuber or trolling with a small electric most of the lakes within say 5-10 miles like Beverly(Everett), Ballinger, Echo, & Hall(ML Terrace), Serene & Sticney(Lynnwood), Thomas & Ruggs(Silverlake) seem to have little or no bank access because of all the private homes surrounding these lakes. Coming from Eastern Washington this is unfamiliar territory for me. There, almost all the stocked lakes and ponds are on state land or accessible at the end of some farmers road and no one thinks twice about fishing pretty much wherever you want. I don't want to have to drive 20-30 miles every time I'd like to put a line in the water. So if someone could point me to somewhere within maybe 5-10 miles of Evergreen Way & Madison St area in Everett with good bank fishing, I'm all ears.

Slightly off topic for this forum section, but I have looked at doing river bank fishing at the Lowell Riverfront Trail area on the Snohomish River but I have no idea if that is even worth my time. Can anyone chime in on this location?

I've fished for pinks there on odd years, on stretch closer to sohomish. Plenty of action.

Anyone that can chime in on the smaller urban lakes/ponds? Particularly interested in Beverly since it isn't listed on this site and is so close to home.

Silver Lake has plenty of bank acses. Over by Romios on the point, or by Rock City Ecspresso and walk down the trail.

Went down to get my license today so I could go dip a line @ Gissburg and found out that for some reason DSHS put a hold on my license about 5 years ago. WDFW could not tell me anything more so tomorrow I have to call DSHS and see wtf is going on. I have no idea why DSHS would be involved.

Many reasons come to mind, none of them should be for discussion here. Good luck, they're not always very nice to deal with.

[thumbsup] Thanks to Dave S. @ WDFW for clearing up the issue with my license. [thumbsup] As soon as my new gear gets here I think I'll either hit Martha or maybe Ballinger for a few hours after work.

Glad to hear it. Never a good position to be in.
