I'm posting this here and on the Fresh Water Fishing forum.

I have a new pontoon boat coming and I want the best bang for the buck as far as Kick Fins go. If I had an unlimited checking account I'd go for Force Fins without a second thought. But, I'm dealing with reality and need to find some kick fins whose price isn't compared to gas prices. In my book $150 is a ridiculous price for fins. They're great fins, but I won't pay that much. So, I'm asking your opinions on this subject. What fins would you buy if you had $50 or less to spend? $30 or less would be even better. Thanks in advance for your help.

A buddy of mine just bought a pair at Orvis for $35. I cannot remember the manu. but they are seem like god fins. He has been in them twice and said they worked great are are easy to get on and off over boots.I will probably go get a pair soon, as mine are getting pretty beat.

Lotech - In 2002 I bought a pair of Montana kickers for about $35 at Sportsman's Warehouse in the Valley. They are very effective and dirt simple. Just one strap per kicker. I simply step in, seat my heel, and cinch down that strap across the top of my foot....the whole process takes less than five seconds. Same for removal, just loosen the buckle on that strap and kick off that kicker! My partners are amazed at how quickly I get mine on and off.

I see so many other people fighting to get theirs on and off....strings, tie-downs, multiple straps, or God forbid, those oversized jokers you have to cram your foot into before stretching on that mission impossible heel strap.

Plus, they float, unlike others. Not that they need to, for they've never come off over hundreds of trips and six years. That single strap never loosens on it's own. If you get those of the sinking variety then you could end up in a world of pain! I've seen it happen, you probably have too!

Don't know if they still make them. Price has probably gone up a bit since 2002. Good luck.

I got some fins at Sportsman's warehouse made by Browning for $38 a few years ago. I have been extremely happy with them. A number of companies have a somewhat similar design, such as the Creek Company fins on the same Website that Marc has in his post. They are $36.

These are the ones I bought after my 50+ year old mom zoomed pass me with hers.The only down side is shoes wont fit in them just the waders.But I do go at a better speed than most with half the effort.http://www.usdivers.com/pages/finadlt_blast.html.I got mine at Sportsmans wharehouse for about 30 bucks.
