Please help ensure Lake Tapps is Usable in August and September

Post by atyrrell » Wed Mar 26, 2008 7:19 pm

As a fellow bass fisherman who is lucky enough to live on Lake Tapps I am asking for help to make sure Lake tapps is kept at a water level high enough to allow fishing and other activities during August and September. I am just a college student away at WSU but my dad went to a meeting about Lake Tapps the other night and told me the lake is in serious danger of not being full during these months. The Cascade Water Alliance, PSE, and the Tribes are requesting river flow rates that will not keep the lake usable for recreation in August and September. The main thing is that there is science to back up the Lake Tapps Task Force's plan that supports fish, drinking water, and keeping enough water in the lake to support recreation. the problem is that that CWA, PSE, and the Tribes are ignoring the science and negotiating in secret. Please contact these people(Letters are most effective be email/phone calls all help) and let them know that Lake Tapps needs to be full during these months and that it can be done while still keeping river flow rates high enough for salmon.

Here are the addresses:

This brings up a reminder in my narrow mind.

I've heard rumors that Tapps was going to be drained all together. Anyone else hear that?
Well,hopefully thats not true.

Hey Kevin,
Your mind may be narrow...it must be deep..? Trying to be nice..I think...I think rumours are exactly what they are...an album by Fleetwood Mac.
The homeowners would go ballistic...And if the WATER Alliance drained it where would they get the WATER? Maybe they'd become the No Water Alliance and fight to have water in the lake? I think those interested like myself, will get educated before jumping into this conversation. No need to get all crazy...yet. Its almost full pool now. See yah!

Fly Fishing is the art of attaching a fake bug to a line and relying on the appropriate manipulation of the rod to deceive the fish into eating a sharp steel hook covered with feathers and fur.
