LOL like I've said, I've been out of it awhile. What I can say is the turkey feathers at JoAnns is low quality and 'cheap' in that regard but it is workable

OK NOW I gotta get goin' (to work

). Good luck and thanx for the correction.
PS- losaturn you aren't goofing around! That's some decent gear and heavy line. I'm using I think cheapo 8 or 10 pound mono from Wholesale Sports when they had that 1 penny a yard stuff 2 years back LOL. Bottom of the barrel equipment but at least I managed one little bugger on the first trip. Hoping to get out tomorrow for a quickie. Thursday won't be able to. Maybe Sunday if I'm good (Honey do list)

Ah, Bodofish I got a second to think today finally (LOL). I was thinking of ostrich feathers not turkey.
The ostrich is way better IMO for making marabou tails on jigs than turkey.
Also, FF I (and probably many) agree with you on the lighter line espeically with river coho. They get spooked pretty easily at times but boy losaturn is nailing them on the heavier stuff. Of course the Duw is not crystal clear water.

working on the eastside is a drag!
congrats knotabassturd !!!!
I'm going to try to get out for a real short trip today, probably another 20-30 minute one. Gotta do a little reading w/the litle one and then get ready for work- heading out about 40 minutes early

Hope the nets in the water since Sunday this week doesn't mean no fish...

At least one made it through the nets, with scrape marks to show from it.

I joined the ranks of the blanked today bentrod. 0 for 0. Short trip (about 40 minutes fish time this time) but still... A zero is a zero...
BTW losaturn nice job squeaking out one that snuck thru.

4 for 4!
I think the fish above the nets now are either the smaller squeak thrus or have been in fresh water a few days so probably not the best biters. Maybe early next week (Sunday/Monday) .
Not as many jumpers today (there were a few, seemed a good number of jack jumpers). Was good medicine though getting out for a short shot.

Knot, sorry you didn't hook up, but you're at least making me feel better!
Due to a hellashish migrane this morning I spent my time in bed instead of on the water. Probably from beating my head against a wall in frustration!

Maybe I'll get a chance tomorrow. Work is getting busy, so I don't know.
Maybe we'll both be lucky on the next round.

The netting hotline is pure jibberish!! i just want to know where the nets are? there are places to go and fish down low.. or even by boat you can get below the nets.. well, unless they are right out in front of the spokane st bridge. even then they can't net the whole inlet or whole river across..
i was thinking about a thursday eve outting.. but where are those nets?!?!?!?
speaking of. when i was out last thursday the Native folks that station at the office there were out in a nice sled boat trolling hoochies and slaying!! legit fishing like we folk do.. they seemed to have it down good! i saw a lot of boats land fish that day, but i saw multiple hoookups from their boat.. they launched right next to me at the same time, late afternoon...

Take a look at the treaty agreement. Sounds like they're netting from 1st to 16th bridge this week, then next week it opens to the boeing bridge, Oct 1st it opens to 99 bridge.
http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/tribal/2012-13agreement.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't believe they can net downstream of 1st, it's technically consider the salt Area 10.

Enforcement can be a whole diferent world when it comes to tribal. Fishing somehow me thinks will be at the bottom of their priority lists when they're still struggling a bit with stuff like balanced sentencing for severe felony stuff. But there's always hope.

Well, the treaty agreement is for this year. Its still not clear if they start from 1st ave.
What was interesting, I didn't see any netting permitted at the snohomish system.

That one net was enough to kill the action then they had the other 2 set up. When that happens again time to go up river or some where else.
I haven't been able to get out since they put the nets in hoping they don't kill my hot streak !!!!!

I've seen them deploy nets down off of Diagonal Park before (downstream of 1st Ave S and upstream of Spokane St.). They would put the net out, sweep downstream a ways then gather it right up again. Basically sweeping between the cargo ships in the main channel. But that was a few years ago.
Another thing to check out. A guy down at the 1st Ave launch told me that some of the off-street parking down there is indian land and they will ticket and tow once they start netting - I don't know if this guy was feeding me a line or knew what he was talking about but something to keep in mind.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Not even evidence of a strike. At least previously I thought I got a couple bumps. Didn't see any nets in the water yet though and there were a few fish jumping. More with color on them today.

I'm going out tomorrow even though low tide is going to be at 6.5. Not expecting much but it willbe good to get out on the river.
