Post by fishaholictaz » Wed Oct 07, 2009 6:33 pm

I was thinking of getting my ice fishing gear together we are expecting to get hit by some COLD weather so it won't be long until the ice is fishable:cheers: I can not wait I got some people to go with this year and we are going on the hunt for big trout:bball:

Any body else looking forward to the ice:bounce:

:thumright just a follow up i was hunting up near ratchel lake by lake kechless and there is ice forming on the edge. i was way above snow line, there was 1 foot of snow up there but the important thing is there is ICE FORMING. after i left there i went to lost lake about 1000 feet lower and on the far west end i saw ice in the cove forming only about 2 feet out from the edge but still its nice to see. so i think about 3 weeks and we may have fishable ice. its gettting real close now i hope to see other people fish this year and hope all of you have a great safe fishinig winter.

i bought a new shantie this year a Eskmo quick flip 2 wow what a great shantie i finally loaded it up and organized it to the point of being a complete sled. i tryed to move it last night and was in for a huge surprise its friggen heavy alot heavier than my old shapell 2000 but alot more room. im so glad i have a snowmachine to pull it to the lakes.

i called lake easton ranger station to see if they had an idea of the ice conditions the ranger said the lows have been good but the highs are prohibiting the ice from forming. i will go up to lost lake on t-day to see for myself and also check on 2 other lakes right in the general area (cottonwood, and mirror) i will try ot post info if i see its worth it.

have a good one and just keep on hoping for the cold.
