Did you watch the vid on that page? Looks interesting. I hope the views shown are from the camera and haven't been retouched to fool us, the buyer.

They're far from HD, but should be fine for something you wear on your face! I mean, not sure what you're expecting from a pair of sunglasses ;)

What???? Dudes look corny with GoPro's perched on there craniums.......LOL!

I've a GoPro question. Do you think a cam could be mounted on a shotgun, in a fashion that a shooter could look through the screen. Down the length of the barrel, and aim at a moving target?. So, the video looks as real as it gets?

You can mount a gopro on anything! You'd have to practice shooting with it though, it would affect the balance of your rifle.

736x480 is not a very high resolution. It may look okay on a phone, or youtube, but if you try to go full screen with it, it will look awful. I'd save up and get an old school go pro if I were you, an extra hundred dollars or so will get you a much better camera.

Although you will look like a dumb@$$ if you mount it on your head. Put it on your chest or something. The dudes that walk around with one on their head crack me up. Was out at tokul creek and there was a kid there with a go pro on, all day, wading around and whatnot. He didn't catch one either, but he got lots of footage of me reeling them in. All I'm saying is if you have a go pro on your head you better be catching fish.

Nope, not so you can look through the screen (there isn't one) and aim at a target. Now, If you were to buy the optional LCD BacPac, maybe, but you'd have a heck of time sighting down the barrel with a camera in the way.

Got one for Father's Day, can't wait to use it at Roosevelt. Have a mount so I can attach it to my net, will be cool to try that out. [thumbup]

I was considering getting a pair of these camera/glasses. One of the things that steered me away from them was a review I read pointing out the fact that a guy can get a little dizzy or sea sick watching the videos. The point to that is that when you have the camera on, you see what you are looking at, at all times. You don't realize how much you turn your head and the things you look at throughout the day and the camera records it all. If you edit the video and take out all the non fish catching stuff you will help that problem. The other thing I read is that you have to point your nose right at what you are filming. I read that you can get quite a bit of video that seems to have what you would want to be a focal point, showing up at the bottom of the screen rather than in the middle. I would be interested to see what you think of these after using them. I still may be interested in owning a pair.

Good luck

I had assumed a GoPro had a LCD screen! Houston, that is a problem. Not familiar with the "optional LCD backpack". But, all recording would need to occur from eye level or higher. Does this leave the head mount as the only option?

There must be a way to mount the GoPro with a space between camera and gun receiver. So, gun sighting to target is possible, and as realistic a video is possible.

hahaha.. you will never see one on my head and 99% of the time i have 1 or 2 gopros on me.. i have a few options for mounting on the boat and just fishing from shore.., sometimes its in a monopod in my backpack even..
Only time you'll ever see one on my head is on my helmet when i chase-cam my friends riding snowmobiles and its only because i am filming them.. not just whatever is in front of me.. (CORNY!)

As far as Corny goes. Dorky with a capitol "D" comes to mind!

Any ideas on a shotgun, receiver GoPro mount? Many, many years ago. A dude was Dove hunting with a video camera mounted in view of sight.

The video showed the "Red Dot". One would see when looking through a "red dot" scope, designed for mounting on a shotgun, and judging "leed" of moving object.

With the absence of a view finder on a GoPro. Line of sight would be difficult. The best I can come up with, other than head mount. Would be a 1" air space between shotgun receiver and bottom of video cam. The space is for aiming due to the absence of LCD screen. But as close the barrel as possible for line of sight video footage.

Any ideas for mounting? Based on your knowledge of GoPro accessories?

Maybe mount the gopro on the under side of the shotgun, eh?

I really like the sleek design of those contour cam's. Mounted on the underside of a skateboard>>>!!!! What kind of bad arse design have you found? That design takes the "Corny" out of the cameraman!

Were you able to retrieve the camera or is it considered fish attracting, bottom structure?

My thoughts were in that position, using a GoPro. The barrel, and receiver could obstruct the view. But mostly, mounting it there could become snaggy and get in the way of loading, unloading. Sliding it out near the end of the barrel would make for added weight.

But the slim contour cam is another story. Mounted on the underside of the barrel, near the end. Using a handle bar mount, could be the ticket!

Must check out youtube for options.

its still in 16 ft of water about 40 yrds from shore.. it popped off my mount when i was smacking the gunnel with the monopod trying to get the ducks away from my boat.. (my kid was feeding them goldfish)
i was more bummed at loosing the underwater footage we got that day, my kid was slaying the trout.. the cam was free, i did a focus group with them and they gave me a free cam.. now i'm down to 2 gopros, the contour was my underwater cam. (i have a box of broken and out of date cams too)
