Teaching Seniors - Need Your Help
Hello all!
I am very excited to share with all of you that I have volunteered what little skill I have to teach seniors at a local senior center the basics for (trout) fishing. I'm not sure what I just got myself into, but the wheels are rolling so there's no stopping or cancelling now.
I plan to teach them how to tie knots, put on some power bait, the parts of a basic fishing rig, and how to cast.
Many of them are very excited about this and have shared with me comments, such as, "I used to love fishin' with my dad," or "I have never fished in my life but have always wanted to."
In addition to teaching the class, I am going to be responsible for getting together the supplies and equipment as well. If you have an unused light action rod about 6'6" reel (basically, you typical trout set up) or less that you no longer use, could I borrow it? I will return it when the class is finished. My goal is to have 10-15 set ups on hand to learn about the parts of the reel and rod, and how to cast. I will put line on any empty reels.
The class is on June 1 and is fast approaching.
On their behalf and mine, thank you for your assistance. Our first fishing trip is two weeks later on June 15.
Sincerely,
Alexander Arceo

Back at you, bro. We need show them the light.
Clam Man, I will be teaching at a senior center in the Rainier Valley. The fishing trip will be at the Ufish in Orting. It has the amenities I need to ensure they are comfortable, and to ensure success without the need for a license.
