Anybody use those us spinning reels?

Post by spokey9 » Mon May 24, 2010 3:42 pm

I've got a chance to buy a new one at a really good price, but haven't used one. Do they cast as well as advertised and how's the drag? I'd be using it for steelies and fishing eggs for salmon in the rivers.

Yes I have one, and they are nice reels. The drag is probably the best I have used and you can cast a mile. The line capacity is why liked them. Havnt got to use it a whole lot, but I would recommend it. Perfect for salmon/steelhead. I read a lot of reviews before I got mine, they were split 50/50. I guess half of them arent built very well and fall apart after the 1st couple casts. I decided to take the gamble and 6 months later she is still running strong. I have used it trolling for walleye and trout and jigging for both those species, as well as plunking Rufus. It worked great for all methods, but trying to save her for the salmon.

Yes but you catch twice as many fish as normal people like me so you would replace a reel sooner. :dwarf:
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Took my new reel out for the first time this morning on the cow and man does that thing fling eggs. I love it and the drag suprised me on how smoothly it starts up. I got the 240lx model and put 8lb izor and finally got the distance i've needed to free drift roe up at the pool.
