BassFanatic and I are headed 2 Hawaii for 6 days the 1st week of August 2 do some Peacock Bassin as well as LMB,..both our wifes said cool,..his took a little more persuasion but they are newlyweds and so that's understandable,..as for my wife we've been together since 1991 so she knows how I can be,..I'll bring some nice gifts back for her and the kids and it'll be a blast! She gets all the space she needs whenever she wants 2 do something and I never ever question her!

I feel some of your pains guys. My wife lets me fish when I want for the most part. To be honest i would love to fish more than I already do. I got two kids, my two year old son and a 6 year od step-daughter. My step daughter only lives with us part time. My wife knows that once I can trust my son around the water more, he will be coming with me and she is welcome to come. My wife is alergic to fish so she doesn't get any benifit from me fishing, other than she knows it relaxes me and I enjoy it. Her hobbies keep her in the house for the most part and I here it all the time that I get to get out and do stuff and she doesn't. I dind't do much fishing when we first met or the first year of our marriage. We were living in CA and I didn't have much of a desire to fish for bass and was into the car scene more then. Once we moved back to WA though it was game on and teh fishing started hard core. She had a hard time understanding why I did it at first but once she figured out it was my way of relieving stress she stopped question and nagging about me going fishing as much. Yes I still here it from time to time but my Mom has tod her not to fight it because I am ike my dad and I wouldn't give it up for anything or anyone.

The best thing I can tell anyone is to manage your fishing time and your family time as much as possible. If you haven't gotten your wife out on teh water with you, do it as soon as possible. Even if she doesn't like it she might see how much you enjoy it and let you go more or at least not give you as much grief as before. I need to get my wife out salmon fishing this year, she has ony been trout fishing. The hard part is finding a sitter for the kids so we both can get out.

Good luck to all of you

Yeah, there's the rub, it's the kids/wife combo that keep me off the water. The wife would be out there with me if it were not for the little ones at home and she's not big on getting all the child care responsibility while I go play (can't say I blame her).....even if it makes me an easier person to deal with. :-$ It's been three months and counting since I've picked up the fishing rod. :-({|=
Yup. Kids... Wife... Need I say more.
When times get tough, just keep on fishin'!!!

Fishing caused a separation, were back together and I'm still as selfish as ever. When big bass are shallow, I don't even ask.
I've got a date, Miss LMB, and she sure has a big mouth- "Oh Momma"
I'm gonna miss her, when she's gone- "again"
I am taking her to Banks for a few days..... for some good quality time together?
