Has anyone used the Navionics West maps for the Droid X (or other android smartphone)? If you have, what were your thoughts on it?

Also, for anyone that uses a smartphone out on the water, what drybag are you using and where did you get it? Looking for something relatively rugged, waterPROOF, and that I can see through and use my touchscreen. I realize some durability will have to be sacrificed for this, but yeah, that's what I'm after.

If you have an iPhone, placing it in a typical waterproof bag will prevent you from using the touch screen. The screen requires you use a conductive material to use it and that is normally your finger. I don't know if anyone makes a waterproof bag with a conductive liner for the iPhone, but that is what you would need.

There are a bunch of different bags/containers built to protect smartphones from water intrusion. AquaPac makes some of the better cases, ones that provide a positive lock to ensure the bag/case would open on it's own.

Having just lost a hand held GPS in Lake Whatcom, I too am looking for a 'container' for my iPhone. I would also add floating to the list of requirements for this new container.

Check with REI, I know they carry the Aquapac products. As for the floating requirement, just leave a little air in the bag and it will float.

Reviews for several of the cases indicate that the user was able to use the touchscreen on their device while inside the case.
