my first bad day at wilderness. no hits, no fish, nothing. i came with my friend Danny and tried for trout and bass along the point next to the boat launch, because we got kicked off the dock by the lifeguards because of the swimmers. had one little bass following my spinnerbait but didn't strike. only had 1 single small hit from a brave bluegill that charged my spinner, which was quite larger than the fish itself. I'm going to get my inflatable raft and hit up this lake later this week. need to make up for today.

careful not to fall in. I remember that lake had a leach problem a few years back

yeah i remember that. i refused to swim in that lake until it was resolved haha but i'm pretty sure they got it all under control now. i haven't heard of any leech problems in the lake in a long time.

IEnjoiBreak: I've been stopping by Lake Wilderness in the evenings from around 7:00pm until twilight; when any lifeguards go off duty. That way you can fish off the dock. In the evening you'll get some perch biting on worm around the railing; with the big holdover trout cruisin' into the shallows as it gets dark. Fish either on bottom with night crawler or 10 - 12 feet deep with a bobber and worm. Caught two rainbows 12 - 14" last Friday evening wish I had pictures I'll make sure I have them next time.

thanks phil. i'll give that a try next time. i actually usually fish off the private dock directly opposite of the beach and i always bring in a 16+inch bow just 20 feet out, off the bottom with a whole crawler. i'm going to fish off there this friday but next time im at the beach i'll try what you do. but if you're ever on a boat or something, go off to that dock and still cast or troll 20-30 feet away from the dock. you'll most likely pull out something nice. i always do anyway ;)
