Went out to Silver Sunday morning on a wimb, nothing was happening, I thought I should try it instead of watching the 5+ hours of boring pregame that was going to happen all day. Got out there at abut 9:00 am, one other group of guys were heading on the ice when I was as well. No one was doing very well. I was using a size 14 chartuse and orange marmooska with a red finesse tail trailer, I can usually pick up about 10 with it and then get some eyes for the rest of the day but nothing even tried to take a swing at it.

I went out and tried to the black ice line about 40 yards from the second pier on the southern side of the launch bay, with no luck in about 25 feet of water. I then moved into the middle more in front of the middle pier of the launch about 120 yards from the launch, nothing. So I moved into about 15 feet of water right off of the middle pier itself and still nothing. I gave it about an hour and went home to start drinking and watch the Packers handle the Steelers. Good to see the trophy coming back to title town, sorry Gary, I had to say it.

Silver might be dying down but at least Roosevelt is starting to heat up a bit.

Tight lines and heavy nets,
Fowl (Elliott)

Elliott, we must have just missed one another. Yeah, the bite was slow Sunday. I only had two takes between 7:00 and 8:00 while out deep. Moved in shallow near the boat house and got only two more takes in the next 45 minutes, so I packed up and left. Den and I did real good yesterday, though, experiencing a pretty consistent 2-hour long bite. For whatever reason we do really well on dark, overcast days. Sunny days, not so much.

Despite the Steelers sloppy play, ie penalties and turnovers, they were in it until the end. But, your boys were the better team on Sunday, no doubt. Congratulations! We'll meet again, though.....neither one of these teams is leaving the playoff stage anytime soon.

Yeah, those turnovers really got the better of the Steelers, it's unfortunate too. I think it would have been a real nail biter if it wasn't for the few points off of the turnovers themselves. That's what next year is for though, I agree we'll see both teams again for sure, as long as both tams keep all the players, coaches and staff' out of trouble this off season.

I'll try and get out there in the morning again soon, hopefully the general warming trend overall will increase the activity I sure do miss pulling in like 50 of those perch, makes for an exciting time.
