A quick trip to Rimrock today for "silvers" ok, "kokanee" to all the icthyologists out there because they are a landlocked sockeye. I grew up with them being "silvers" in Rimrock. That's what my 95 year old dad always called them when we spent many days on the lake when I was a small lad, and that is what they will always be to me. Sorry for the "misnomer" just a memory thing for me.

Caught three kokanee, one went back (only 4") and the other two (8") plus one 9" bow came home for a treat for Mom and Dad to feast on. Wind was brutal, typical May morning on Rimrock. Chummed with bran, which helped get the silvers. They were deep, about 10-12' under a slip bobber with a red Rimrock Special fly, size 12 tipped with two maggots. Started at 9 am, left at 11:30. Should get better when water clears a bit more. Lake not quite full. Wind gusts were up there, 25-30 mph, white caps. Only saw one boat wind trolling, and they did not stay long either.
