72 fish were caught and released today. We got to the lake at 11am and left at 5pm. Air temp was about 65 degrees with cloudy skies. Had rain on and off and had to break out the rain gear at one point. Only windy for about one hour. Water temp was 69.5. The extra week of stable temps was good for getting the bass moving.

I was low man on the body count because I stuck with crank baits and didn't stoop to worms. My 12 bass were more consistently larger than K. & P's.

P. led the competition boating 35 fish. 23 pumpkinseeds and 12 bass. His "huge" sunfish was so spectacular we had to get a photo.

K. boated 9 pumpkinseeds, 19 bass and 2 rainbow trout. We were happy to catch the trout in memory of our
dear friend who died this morning. He loved eating trout and we would sometimes save them for him. He was with us in heart and mind all day.

I had two real nice bass roll on my lures which was enough to make me long for the ones that got away.
I had 3 fish strike hard but never buttoned-up. Going to have to spend some time targeting them deep, but that's hard to do when the action is quick shallower with the smaller ones.

During the rain we tucked under low hanging branches right next to shore and barbecued hamburgers on the boat. Some hikers went by and stated we were living the good life. They are right.
