Alder Lake was at 1,191.6 feet of elevation (maximum of 1,207 feet elevation) on May 27, 2016 when Kim (pinkpole) and I got there at 7am. The dock was still in the water. Wind was just a breeze at first. Then it got worse. It was mostly cloudy with just peaks of sun. Water temp was 60.

We started left (south) of the launch. I was hoping to see crappie and catfish again with the camera on the line. The water was a lot murkier that last time I was here, May 9th. I caught a cutthroat.
Not much was happening (or that was what I thought) so I trolled over toward the dam. This is when the wind got worse except for when I quit. Got past the dam and went to the inlet called Little Nisqually. There didn’t seem to any fish on the marker. We didn’t have any bites so we went back towards the launch. On film this is where all the kokanee were following my lure. Even had a hook up that was caught on film. I think the reason I didn’t see the action was because I was battling the wind, speed, and controlling the boat. I think the reason we didn’t see the fish on the finder was because they were about 9 foot below the surface.

The wind got too much for me around 11 and I called it an end!

Kim had reeled in a small kokanee she thought had got off. I got 2 small kokanee and 2 cutthroat using Dick Nite Copper Hot Orange Tractor Tread and Brass Chanteuse Tractor Tread didgers joined with Wannafish A Lure Orange and Gold and a prototype lures. But the camera had the fish chasing and swiping at DN 50/50 attached to a WAL Gilded Lily, Pink Splatter with a Mini Squiddy Thang Pink, Chrome Clown with small prototype spinner. Scented corn mostly was Pro-cure Kokanee Special.

Way to stick with it. Maybe next time the weather and fishing will be better. Thanks for the report and the movie!
